La Fête Nationale
Also called Quatorze Juillet or known in English as "Bastille Day.”
On July 14, 1789, the storming of the Bastille was a crucial event. La Fête Nationale recognizes the Fête de la Fédération from 1790. This festival celebrated the first anniversary of the storming and symbolized both unity and the formation of a constitutional monarchy.
More broadly, La Fête Nationale celebrates the birth of the French Republic and the values of liberty, equality, and fraternity that emerged during the revolution.
